Welcome to Vol.65 of Email Advice in Your Inbox
Oh, we’ve been so excited for this!
Today’s email is probably one of the Volumes we’ve most been looking forward to since we started these newsletters.
Because we have a MASSIVE announcement about something we’ve been building for our community, and email senders just like you, {{name|Friend}}!
We’re not going to spoil your fun just yet, and we’ll get into more details and our announcement below, but let’s just say: If you’re serious about audience growth and monetising your emails, you’re going to love this.
But, before you get to that, there’s still a heap of neat links, resources and more.
So, grab a cup of coffee, turn your notifications off, and get ready to dive in.

What have we found to expand your email knowledge today?
Here are a few of our favourite links from across the email and business world, carefully curated just for you:
Find of the week ⭐
We all know one of the strongest engagement signals you can give to the inbox is getting your subscribers to reply to emails.
But it’s often tough to entice readers to reply, so we’ve roped in some help!
Our friend, Dylan Redekop, who runs the amazing Growth Currency newsletter, put together a guide on how to 10x your newsletter replies (and some of these tactics are pretty ingenious).
If you’re looking to build great relationships (while helping keep your emails out of that dreaded spam folder), then this should be up your alley.
We’re also constantly on the lookout for new resources, news, tools and links, so hit us up if you’ve got something valuable to feature!

Time to meet CrossLetter
If you've been reading this newsletter for a while, you'll know we talk a lot about community.
About how email doesn't work in isolation.
About how the best growth happens when creators support each other instead of competing for scraps in a feed they don't really control.
Well, we went and did something about it, so friends, meet CrossLetter!
CrossLetter is a free platform we’ve been building for over 6 months now alongside our good friend and insanely good developer, Francois Schoeman.
And the premise is simple. If you’re a newsletter sender, a sponsor, or anyone who wants to curate an inbox worth opening, this was built for you.

Why we built it
Any email sender doing this the right way knows that growing a newsletter is tough.
You're creating content, building an audience, trying to stay consistent, and then you're told to throw money at ads or hope the algorithm gods smile upon you.
That’s never sat right with us.
We wanted a space where newsletter creators could find each other, recommend each other's work, and grow through genuine connections, while attracting sponsorship opportunities and choosing WHO they want to partner with.
Not relying (solely) on paid acquisition or hustle-marketing tactics.
Not using complicated platforms reserved for large newsletters.
Not limited to only operators in a single niche.
CrossLetter is that space.
We also want users to be in control.
You can choose whether you’re open to cross-promotion, if you’re open to sponsorship, or if you’d simply like to list your newsletter for extra exposure (more on this, so read on!)
CrossLetter will also remain free! We’ll likely introduce paid features for larger sponsors (or for featured slots), but cross-promotion, finding newsletters to sponsor (or great sponsors), and what’s core to the platform will never be paid for.
So what can you actually do with it?
Three things, depending on what you need right now:
Cross-promote.
Find newsletters with audiences that align with yours, reach out, and start collaborating.
It's free, it's effective, and it puts you in front of readers who already love newsletter content.
The key is finding the right match! We’ve designed CrossLetter to let you browse and filter by category, audience size, and topic so you're not pitching blind. You also get insights, snapshots and metrics to match audiences YOUR emails fit best.
Attract (or become) a sponsor.
CrossLetter connects newsletter creators with brands that want to reach engaged audiences. And sponsors need to list a profile too (so you know who you’ll be working with and what they’re looking for).
And if you're on the brand/ sponsor side, it's the easiest way to find newsletters with real, engaged readerships (we’re manually reviewing every. single. newsletter).
Even if you’re looking to sponsor other newsletters to grow YOUR newsletter, you can have both a newsletter AND a sponsor profile.
(Our pro tip): Keep your profile updated with accurate subscriber numbers, open rates, and a clear audience description. Sponsors look for senders who know their readers.
Sound familiar? That's good email practice anyway, and shows you’ve been reading these emails😉.
Discover great newsletters.
This is the one we want everyone to take note of (even if you're not interested in cross-promotion or sponsorship right now).
CrossLetter is also a curated directory, and we’re already transitioning the 220+ newsletters on our Ultimate List of Newsletters for easier inbox curation, too.
Browse by category, explore new voices, and start building a collection of newsletters you ACTUALLY want to read (and we all want a better, more curated inbox, because it’s the best place to learn from now, isn’t it?)
Oh, and we're compiling some awesome email tools for you, too.
Because newsletters don't build themselves, we're building out a recommended Email Tools section on CrossLetter.
These are all hand-picked tools, platforms, and resources to help you grow and monetise your newsletter.
And here's the rule we set ourselves: we only feature tools we’ve used, work with or trust.
You can browse by category (Email Platforms, Partner Product, and Free Tools), and as we discover more, we want a place to tell the world about them (and fill up your bookmarks tab).
So whether you need a platform to send from, a tool to clean your list, or a resource to help you monetise, it will all be in one place.
Here's what's happening next
Over the coming month, we're sending out 300+ invites to newsletters across different niches from across the globe.
The directory is going to grow (fast), so if you get your newsletter up now, you'll be ahead of the curve, with your profile live, and your collection started before the wave hits.
Whether you're a newsletter sender looking to grow, a brand looking to sponsor, or just someone who wants a better reading list, we’d love to see you there!
So, head to crossletter.com and take a look around.
Complete your profile, browse what's there, and start building your collection. We're just getting started, and we'd love this community to be part of it from day one.
That’s why we built it. For you. For us. For the inbox.
P.S! We’re giving away one Featured slot to a newsletter from our community!!!
If you submit any feedback, suggestions, or just have a kind word to say about your experience on CrossLetter, we’ll choose one newsletter from our community and highlight it as a Featured Newsletter for April.
Hit this link to say hi, and let us know what you think to throw your name into the hat to get your newsletter featured.
Verify First. Send With Confidence.

You wouldn't send a campaign without checking your subject line. So why send to a list you haven't verified?
Bouncer keeps your deliverability healthy by flagging invalid and risky addresses before they become your problem.
Fast, accurate, and trusted by thousands.
Plus, as an Email Advice in Your Inbox reader, you'll get an exclusive 20% off to try it out.
One less thing to worry about.

Fancy as…frog
We catch ourselves using a plethora of cumbersome words in our writing (at times).
It's not because we're particularly well-versed in ye old English; we're just trying to be fancy 😋
Because of that, we particularly enjoyed this little gem by @yeeeerika.
What's your fancy email go-to word?

We hope you grow your newsletter with CrossLetter!
If you have any feedback or knowledge to share, hit us up here! Oh, and please share this email with your friends and colleagues if you think they’ll find value over here.
Your feedback only makes us better.
Your friend in email,
